We are happy to annouce that Kid Soldier by Jennifer Maurno, has been nominated for the 2015 Rocky Mountain Book Award!

The TD Canadian Children's Book Week, held in May, celebrates children's books across Canada.  This year's theme, Read to Remember, is of special interest to me as I write historical fiction.

Today, Jennifer Maruno sits down with me to tell me about her new book Kid Soldier. Jennifer will be at the OLA on Friday signing copies of her book. Make sure you stop by the Dundurn booth and say hello!

Caitlyn: Tell us about your book.

Jennifer Maruno, author of the recently released Kid Soldier sits down with me to tell me all about her new book. Jennifer is a long-time educator. Her debut novel, When the Cherry Blossoms Fell, was shortlisted for the Hackmatack Award and the Pacific Northwest Library Association Young Readers Choice Award. She is also the author of Warbird, and Cherry Blossom Winter. She lives in Burlington, Ontario
